The Modernism Museum Mount Dora presents its October Dine & Learn, titled This is Not Reality—The Art of René Magritte featuring art historian Adrienne Lee. Both a luncheon and dinner are available. The dinner lecture and meal will be held on Thursday, October 17th at 6:30 PM at the Modernism Museum’s award-winning restaurant, 1921 Mount Dora. The cost is $35 for a three-course, prix-fixe dinner menu.
Join the Modernism Museum and Adrienne Lee as we explore one of the greatest figures of the Surrealist movement, Belgian artist René Magritte. In This is Not Reality: The Art of René Magritte, we will pull back the curtain and unravel the mysteries that abound in the influential work of Magritte! Magritte, a reserved and private man, used repeated motifs and puns frequently in his artwork. Together we will learn how this playful artist with a dark sense of humor created his own brand of Surrealism.
